Artwork Tips

When ordering promotional merchandise providing the studio with correctly formatted artwork is crucial for a hassle free process. This also ensures that your items will turn out just the way you want them and have no hiccups along the way.

Provide High Quality Artwork

You will need to supply high resolution and vectored based artwork. This will ensure that the final product is clear and reduces the risk of pixelation during printing as you would encounter this with low res artwork. It is also important to include any specific colour codes including CMYK HEX Codes as well as Pantones.

Specify Brand Guidelines

If you have a brand guidelines document, it would be great to send this across to our artwork department so they can get a better idea of how your brand looks and feels. Include information on preferred colours, fonts, and any specific design elements that must be consistent across all branded products. Consistency is key for brand recognition, so make sure the merchandise aligns seamlessly with your overall brand identity.

Consider Product Variations

Be flexible with your artwork to accommodate various product sizes, shapes, and materials. Different promotional items have different printing requirements as well as techniques and amount of colours. Ensure your artwork is adaptable, and if necessary, create variations for different products while maintaining a cohesive brand look. If a preferred product does not have the right printing requirements to suit your artwork there will be another technique or similar product that will be better suited and that is why we are here to help and guide you.

Verify Print and Production Methods

Understand the printing and production methods used. Different materials and products may require specific printing techniques (e.g., screen printing, embroidery, or digital printing).
Work closely with the supplier to choose the most suitable method for your artwork. Verify proofs and prototypes before mass production to ensure the final product meets your expectations.

Plan for Budget and Lead Times

It is good to clearly communicate your budget and timeline expectations, as well as understand the costs associated with different printing methods, materials, and quantities. Planning well in advance allows for adjustments and ensures that the promotional items are ready when needed. Factor in shipping and distribution timelines if the branded products are part of a larger marketing or promotional campaign.
